”I used to shave my underarms in the morning and by the evening they would be back again. One treatment and I didn’t have to shave for 2 weeks. Now I’m totally addicted ”

“Its life changing. Especially as a woman with facial hair I found it so embarrassing but the staff were great and the results have been amazing”

Sam, Maida Vale

“As a man, hair removal is not something I felt comfortable talking about with friends, but the staff at Body Bliss put me at ease. Now my back is completely clear of hair and this summer I felt confident taking my shirt off on the beach”

Laser Hair removal FAQ

1 What is LightSheer Diode Laser and how does it work?
Laser hair removal works by being absorbed into pigment. If the hair has a blood supply at the time of treatment, that hair will die and never come back. Unfortunately all the hairs are at different stages of growth all the time, that’s why a course of treatments is required.
2 How many treatments are necessary? And how often?
Face -  8 Treatments (Every 4 weeks)

Body - 6-8 Treatments (Every 6 weeks)

3 Is the treatment permanent?
It is not possible to get 100% permanent reduction. On average 85-95% will be permanently reduced after having between 6-8 treatments.
4 How long must the hair be before I can come in for consultation & test patch?
The hair for a test patch must be showing above the surface of the skin.
5 Should the hairs be shaved prior to treatment?

YES. If it’s a back area the nurse/therapist can shave on the day.

6 Can I still remove hair between treatments?

You may shave, or trim or use a hair removal cream between treatments. However, you shouldn’t pluck, wax or in any way remove the hairs from the follicles.

7 Can all areas/skin be treated?

We do not treat moles, tattoos, under the eyebrows and skin that is very pigmented. (Black or dark Asian) This is due to increased risk. We do not take any risks at Bodybliss Clinic.

8 Can all hair types be treated?

It is only suitable for hairs that have some pigment. Hence not suitable for blond, grey, white or red.

9 Who performs the treatment?

Fully qualified and registered nurse and experienced therapist. Both highly experienced in the use of the LightSheer Diode Laser System. All our staff are kept current on the latest literature and receive on-going training. Once you have had your consultation, you will always see the same person for your treatments.

10 Will I experience any side effects following treatment?

You may experience a slight sunburnt feeling and some redness to the treated area for a couple of hours after treatment.

11 Is the treatment completely safe?

A wide range of medical specialists have used lasers for well over fifteen years and there is no evidence to date that suggests any long-term side effects. The laser we use is FDA approved. We are also registered with the Healthcare Commission (Britain’s healthcare watchdog).

12 Can you have sun exposure during laser treatment?

Ideally no sun exposure or sun beds throughout treatment but particularly for 2 weeks after. The skin should be back to normal and as pale as possible before treatment can start again.
